Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation at times. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been since the age of nine. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first job with Univision, Miami. She could work with national producers on programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Her stories covered immigration drugs, immigration, as well as other issues on both the Texas and Mexico border. Additionally, she worked as a Spanish reporter for the newscast from 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter on the newscast from 9 p.m. on English and again an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter at 10 p.m. Also, she was often called upon to be an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. There she had more responsibility. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. Also, she has a younger sibling. In 1992, the family settled in Miami after relocating from Mexico in the US. They divorced shortly thereafter and her mother was remarried to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a vacation Antonietta was staying at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered an offer to work. Antonietta was a senior high school student and was very aware of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. As it turned out she loved the campus and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. After completing her studies, she was accepted into the University for a master's degree studying media and communication studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to have self-confidence and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
